CT Weather: Thunderstorms, 50 MPH Wind Gusts Sunday
It will be another wild day of weather in Connecticut on Sunday. Here's what you can expect and there will be more changes next week too.
CONNECTICUT — We're expected to see an inch of rain or more, thunderstorms and 50 mph wind gusts on Sunday. And by Friday daytime high temperatures will struggle to reach 40 degrees.
At least we can fondly recall how beautiful the weather was on Saturday. As for Sunday, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and wind advisory.
Rain is expected to begin later Sunday morning and really pick up in intensity this afternoon. The wind gusts will increase this evening too and that continues into most of Monday.

The weather service said, "a line of showers and embedded thunderstorms approaching into this evening ahead of a cold front has some potential to produce isolated damaging wind gusts."
For southern Connecticut, a wind advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday until 6 p.m. Monday. "West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected."

A dry start, but rain will move in later this morning. Bouts of heavy rain likely through the afternoon. Don't be surprised if you hear a rumble of thunder this evening! See you on #GMCT with @SarahCodyMedia on @WTNH pic.twitter.com/0qdp6l6gdZ

Once the rain ends Sunday, temperatures will drop considerably. Sunshine returns on Monday but high temperatures will struggle to reach into the upper 40s. Tuesday looks great and more rain is expected on Wednesday and Thursday and then very cold temperatures for Friday.
Models back off a bit since yesterday with rainfall, but still expect a decent soaking today. Rainfall amounts will top out around an inch by time this storm ends tonight. pic.twitter.com/xZQPzXoRFo
