Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern Connecticut
Here is the updated timeline for when we can expect the stormy weather Sunday in southern Connecticut.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut from Sunday afternoon up until midnight.
The area is expected to see strong wind gusts, heavy rain and possibly some thunderstorms. Some power outages are possible too. Most areas of southern Connecticut will pick up more than half an inch of rain.
For the coast of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties, the wind advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. until midnight. Winds 20 to 30 mph and some gusts could reach 50 mph.

In Fairfield County and northern sections of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties, the weather service said, "A strong line of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected early this evening. A few of the thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts."
WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons said there is a "slight risk" for some thunderstorms along with "severe wind gusts this evening." He said very light rain is possible beginning around 3 p.m. and the worst of the rain, thunder and wind is this evening up until midnight.

Fox 61 Meteorologist Sam Sampieri said "Latest guidance showing the line of heavy showers through central and western Ct by 10... Still expect the strong gusty winds and a quick burst of heavy rain 9-11pm."

Here are the forecast details via the National Weather Service:
This Afternoon: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Southeast wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Low around 44. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph becoming west 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 13 to 18 mph.
Monday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 38. West wind 8 to 13 mph.
Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. West wind 9 to 13 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 40.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 54.
