'Hero' Milford Public Works Employee Helped Elderly Resident In Need
The city is celebrating a public works employee who came to the aid of an elderly resident who had fallen last month.

MILFORD, CT ? A Department of Public Works employee is being celebrated for assisting an elderly resident who had fallen.
The employee, Jose Torres, came across an elderly resident on Jan. 7 who had recently fallen and suffered a head injury.
"Without thinking, Jose quickly stopped his truck, rendered aid to the individual and waited with them until emergency medical personnel arrived," the city wrote in a Facebook post. "Additionally, when a Public Works Supervisor, Tom Hunt heard what had happened, he went back to the resident?s home to meet family members. He graciously offered to help clear any remaining snow, to ensure the resident was able to get back into the home safely after being released from the hospital.
