Iconic Milford Eatery Reopens After Customer Saves The Day
The 50-year restaurant was forced to close several months ago after a pipe burst causing major damage inside.

MILFORD, CT — The Kimberly Restaurant at 501 New Haven Ave. reopened Tuesday after a pipe burst that significantly damaged the business on December 21, 2020, forcing the eatery to close indefinitely.
To make matters worse after much of the interior of the business was destroyed the insurance money wasn't enough to make full renovations, Hearst Connecticut reports.
But a longtime customer, Robert Altieri, owner of Robert’s Mechanical Services, came to the rescue offering them credit and more importantly his services to bring the business back up and running.

Altieri told Hearst CT that he has been going to the diner for decades and has known the family forever, and he wanted to do something to help them out.
The Kimberly Restaurant has been in business since 1970. Nearly 250 reviews have been left on Google and one customer wrote, "This is one of the best kept secrets in Milford. The place is well known for breakfast and lunch but their dinner menu well small is custom and wonderful. Absolutely not a diner for evening dinner. Frenchie the longtime host is a marvelous individual in the service is superb."
