Lobbying Firm Started By Former Milford Legislator Celebrates 15 Years

International Government Strategies was founded by former Speaker of the House of Representatives Jim Amann.

MILFORD, CT ? International Government Strategies, a lobbying firm founded by former Milford representative and Speaker of the House Jim Amann, is celebrating 15 years of advocacy for businesses and organizations across Connecticut, according to a statement.

The firm focuses on representing clients before state agencies, the legislature, and municipal governments, specializing in sectors such as education, finance, film and digital media, healthcare, insurance, housing, and arena development.

Amann highlighted the firm?s success in navigating complex issues and said he will continue to use its political expertise to advocate on behalf of clients in the years ahead.

"We are committed to providing precise solutions that meet our clients? needs in a changing political landscape," Amann said.

Over the years, the firm has built a reputation for its work in a variety of fields and was further strengthened by the addition of Michael Rell as a partner.

Rell, who joined the firm nine years ago after serving in the Connecticut House of Representatives and as mayor of Wethersfield, emphasized the firm?s ongoing mission to represent clients' interests in legislative matters.

?Our goal is to ensure policymakers understand our clients? concerns and find common ground on legislation that affects them,? Rell said.

International Government Strategies has also expanded its team with the addition of Casey Larkins, an expert in grassroots organizing, coalition building, and community outreach. Larkins previously worked for the General Assembly as a policy analyst.

Over the years, International Government Strategies has represented a range of clients, including Honeywell, the Connecticut Vineyard and Winery Association, and the New England Air Museum, among others.
