In honor of Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to share their love stories. It all started at the Milford YMCA for these two lovebirds. Whether you're a fan of Valentine's Day or the thought of red and pink decorations makes <a href="https://patch.com/new-york/lower-east-side-chinatown/valentines-day-hell-manhattan-rite-aid">you want to puke</a>, we've got a hunch everyone could use some happy news this month. And what's happier than a love story? We asked Patch readers on Facebook to share their local love stories — how they met, where it all went down, and what's kept them together. Here's the story of Diane and John and how their friendship blossomed into a 38 year marriage. <hr />John and I met in 1972 at the Milford YMCA that used to be on High Street in Milford Center. We became friends before we started dating. We got married in 1979 and had three wonderful sons and one beautiful granddaughter. The best part of my marriage is I married my best friend and there isn't anyone else I'd rather spend my time with. The key is you have to be happy and when you're not talk about it!
