Lois Jean Shields, 91, of Orange, passed away on January 27, 2024.

Lois Jean Shields, 91, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Joseph Patrick Shields, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, in the comfort of her home. Born on October 8, 1932, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late David and Madelaine Grillo.

Lois grew up in West Haven and maintained the childhood friendships she developed there for most of her life. She worked at U.S. Motors for many years. Her true passion lay in the solace of her home and the serenity of her garden. She cherished the simple pleasures of watching birds flutter and chipmunks scurry amidst the foliage that enveloped her home.

Lois leaves behind her children, Lisa Shields and Keith (Sheri) Shields; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, David Grillo.

Services will be private. The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
