Man Illegally Enters Restaurant, Steals Alcohol: Milford PD
The accused entered the restaurant through an unlocked window and stole two bottles of alcohol from the bar area, police said.
MILFORD, CT — A New Haven man is accused of breaking into a Milford restaurant and stealing two bottles of alcohol, police said.
Police said on July 1, 2020 there was a reported break-in at the Founders House Pub & Patio on Broad Street.
A preliminary investigation found that a man entered the restaurant through an unlocked window and stole two bottles of alcohol from the bar area, police said. The surveillance video was released on social media, which led several people to identify the suspect as Louis Ortiz, 43, of Marie Street, police said.

The CT State Laboratory assisted with the forensic evidence and confirmed that Ortiz’s DNA was found on scene, police said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Ortiz on Feb. 23 and was served on March 16, while in custody of Department of Corrections for other burglaries, police said.

He is charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on $20,000 bail.
