MILFORD, CT — The Milford 14u State Champions need your help as they prepare to represent Connecticut in the regionals, which will be held in Rochester, New Hampshire.

If they are successful at the regionals then they'll head to the Babe Ruth World Series. But in order to get to the regionals, the team needs to raise money to ensure it can participate, said parent Adam Delozier, who has begun a GoFundMe page to help with travel and team expenses.

In three days, $2,400 has been raised out of a goal of $3,000. Forty-seven people have made donations.

On the GoFundMe page it says, "For the 2nd year in a row the Milford Babe Ruth 14 year olds have won the State Championship and will have the honor of representing CT in the Regionals with the hope of winning and reaching the Babe Ruth World Series. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

"First up is the Regional Tournament which is in Rochester, New Hampshire. Approximately 3.5 hours away. This means our team members and families will have no choice but to stay in hotels, eat out and miss time from work. While last year we were in Massachusetts for the Regional Tournament, many us were able to "commute" back and forth. This is just not an option for us this year.

"So we are here asking for any donation you would be able to provide. Even a small 10 dollar donation will go a long way to helping all of the families involved this year. These donations will go towards tournament entry fees, umpire fees, room and board, meals and anything else needed for the team! Thank you in advance!!"
