Milford Coronavirus Vaccine Update: Additional Details Released

MILFORD, CT — The Parsons Government Center gymnasium has been transformed into a full coronavirus vaccination clinic, Mayor Ben Blake said.

"The Milford Health Department has done a great job rolling out this vaccination clinic," Blake said.

The city's vaccine clinics operate all day on Wednesday and on Friday afternoons with registration through the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS). Yale New Haven Health System will use the Milford Health Department vaccine clinic site to provide vaccines at the Parsons Government Center Gymnasium on days when the Health Department is not operating its clinic, according to officials.

City Health Director Deepa Joseph said the city this week began vaccinating residents who are part of 1B, which includes a total of 1.3 million Connecticut residents. She said the priority is on vaccinating all folks 75 and older.

In a few weeks, people over the age of 65 will be able to get the vaccine, Joseph said. And then a few weeks after 65 and older residents are vaccinated then it will be frontline workers and younger people with certain medical conditions, Joseph said.

She urged Milford residents to keep monitoring the Health Department's website for more details on when it's their turn to get vaccinated.
