Milford Coronavirus Vaccine Update: Here's What You Need To Know
Milford officials shared new details on how residents can sign up and access the COVID-19 vaccine.
MILFORD, CT — Milford officials shared new details on how residents can access the coronavirus vaccine as folks 65 and older are now able to sign up for the vaccine.
Phase 1b vaccinations began with individuals age 75 and older in January. This week, the state has opened-up vaccine eligibility for individuals age 65 and older. To receive the vaccine, eligible residents are required to make an appointment. Starting Tuesday, individuals 65 and older may make appointments in the following ways:
- VAMS online system: VAMS is the Vaccine Administration Management System and can be used to schedule appointments online for the Milford Health Department clinic at the Parsons Gymnasium, as well as at multiple clinics across the state. For step-by-step instructions on how to register with VAMS, visit the Milford Health Department COVID-19 Vaccine Information webpage.
- Yale New Haven Health: Yale New Haven Hospital is currently operating its COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Parsons Gymnasium when the Milford Health Department is not operating its clinic. To make an appointment with Yale New Haven Health at the Parsons Gymnasium or at other Yale locations, visit the Yale New Haven Health COVID-19 vaccine website at https://www.ynhhs.org/.../vac.../get-your-covid-vaccine.aspx or call 833-275-9644.
- If you do not have internet access, please call Connecticut’s COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line at 877-918-2224. This phone line is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week.
- Walmart: Walmart will be offering the vaccine at seven locations across the state, including in West Haven and New Haven. To make an appointment using this system, visit Walmart.com and click on Health Services.
"The City of Milford’s goal is to continue to administer vaccine as quickly as possible and provide as much information as possible to help our residents navigate the systems," officials said in a news release. "The supply of vaccine at this time does not meet the demand on a national level, so it will take time to vaccinate everyone. We thank you for your commitment to keeping Milford healthy, and we ask for your patience as we all work together to bring an end to this pandemic."
