Milford Man Defrauded Victim Out Of $167K, Federal Prosecutors Say

The victim provided two checks worth $167,000, which a former Milford man and a woman are accused of using for their own purposes.

MILFORD, CT ? A former Milford man is accused of defrauding a victim out of $167,000 in a phony investment scheme, according to a statement from federal prosecutors.

Marc Anthony Alexander, 44, formerly of Milford, and Melanie Ham, 40, of Norwalk, were charged with conspiracy and fraud crimes.

In 2022, Ham and Alexander operated a business called Traveling Graces, LLC. Ham registered the business with the state and "Dr. Marc Anthony Alexander" was its manager.

Between July and December 2023, Alexander and Ham misrepresented to the victim that Traveling Graces was a legitimate business and that they were looking for investors, according to prosecutors. The victim provided two checks worth $167,000, which Ham and Alexander are accused of using for their own purposes.

A federal indictment charged the pair with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and two counts of wire fraud. Each crime carries a maximum prison term of 20 years.

Alexander appeared in court last week and pleaded not guilty to charges. He is currently incarcerated in federal custody.

Ham previously pleaded not guilty to charges and was released on $100,000 bond.
