Milford Man Robs Same Business 3 Times At 2 Locations: Police

The accused was held on $800,000 bail, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A Hilldale Court man is being held on $800,000 bail after being accused of robbing a local business, Shell Food Mart, at knife point on three separate occasions at two different locations, police said. Two of the robberies occurred on the same day, police said.

At 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 14 police were called to the Shell Food Mart at 524 New Haven Ave. Police said a man had entered the gas station, displayed a knife, and fled on foot.

At 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 14 police responded to the same business, this one located at 1345 New Haven Ave. for another robbery, and they determined the same suspect was responsible, police said. He took cash from the register and left on foot, police said.

Then at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 21 police responded to the 1345 New Haven Ave. Shell Food Mart for another robbery. Once again, police said the same suspect was responsible for this third robbery.

Police said their investigation led to three arrest warrants being issued for James Kirstein, 36, who is charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree threatening, fifth-degree larceny, and two counts of sixth-degree larceny.
