MILFORD, CT — It appears that the Milford Oyster Festival will be returning in at least some capacity after a one-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Event organizers were asked on social media if the festival was returning in 2021 and organizers responded by writing, "so far yes!" as of a few days ago. An earlier response by organizers indicated that the final decision rests with the city of Milford.

If you visit the Milford Oyster Festival website the evidence concerning whether the festival will be held this August is a mixed-bag.

The website states "see you on August 21, 2021 for the 47th Annual Milford Oyster Festival in Downtown Milford." It also lists August 20, 2021 as the date for the pre-festival event from 6-10 p.m. at Lisman Landing and participating businesses.

But under this announcement it lists the 80s band, 'Extreme' as the musical headliner for the 2019 Milford Oyster Festival. No entertainment headliner has been announced yet for the 2021 Milford Oyster Festival.
