Milford Small Business Spotlight: Antelope Web
Our small business series shines a light on local business owners in the community.

Every local business has a story worth sharing with the community. And that’s the belief behind this exciting series — to shine the spotlight on all our favorite local businesses, and to learn a little about the ones we may not know that well.

How did you come up with the name:The name is a nod to my love of music and the live performance. The music group Phish has an anthem titled Run Like an Antelopeand it is this song that inspired my business name and the logo.
Why start a business in this town:We relocated here from southern Virginia (near Williamsburg) just before the economy went south. My wife has extended family in Waterbury who own a beach house in Milford’s Wildemere Beach section. She spent her summers vacationing here as a child, and it seemed fitting that we move here, its beautiful!
Briefly, what business are you in?I am in the Inbound Marketing business. We create websites and digital marketing strategies that help businesses bring in more customers.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? The biggest challenge I have faced, besides keeping a good cash flow, has been balancing my time between my business and my family. My wife is an educator and I have two great middle school age children. Making enough time for them and devoting enough energy and attention to the family has been challenging, but completely worth it. I made a commitment when I started my business that I would be there for my family; family dinners, weekends off, etc… Most business owners choose to pour heart and soul into the business and miss out on many important family moments, but not me. The work will keep, my children won’t stop growing up!
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?I recently was awarded the Oliver Andrus Award for exceptional service by the Devon Rotary. Rotary and community service has been the best part of being a business owner and leader in the community. Its nice to be recognized by your peers for hard work and service above self. I’m proud of what I have accomplished.
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?I serve on the board of Devon Rotary and I volunteer for many community events like Duck Race and Oyster Festival. Also, Antelope Web has been named a “business of compassion.” We give away one free website to a local charity each month. It feels good to give back in such a significant way. Many charities don’t have the means to do good marketing and it is my distinct pleasure to help them do their work better.
