Milford Sonic Eyes November Opening

A Sonic representative Wednesday said “current plans” to open the Milford location indicate a November launch.

Construction has picked up at the former Arby’s on the Boston Post Road as workers start to retrofit the site with canopies for Sonic’s signature drive-in parking spots.

The Milford location will be outfitted with 12 such drive-in spots, a city official told Milford Patch in June. That number is less than Sonic’s other locations in the state because “they didn’t feel they had the room” to fit more, the city official said.

In July, Sonic held two separate “hiring dates,” which spanned back-to-back weekends. The representative could not say how many hires those sessions yielded or if the location was still looking for help.

Sonic had originally announced they'd be open by the end of September.
