Milford Students Returning To School 5 Days A Week In March
School officials announced when students will return to school for all five days.

MILFORD, CT — Superintendent of Schools Anna Cutaia said beginning on Wednesday, March 17 students will return to school five days a week. Wednesdays have been a remote learning day since the beginning of the year but that will change in a couple of weeks, officials announced.
Cutaia announced the news in a letter to the community:
"I am pleased to share some much-anticipated news with everyone! Beginning on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, we will be moving to In-Person Learning five (5) days a week, including Wednesdays. While we will still observe our shortened daily model (5 hours per day), we are confident that bringing all students and staff back to school, 5 days a week, is now possible and safe for all.

As I’ve stated many times in my communications to you over the course of the past several months, we’ve been using a set of metrics to assist in our decision-making connected to school scheduling during COVID-19. These are: 1-health metrics; 2- social/emotional needs; 3-academic priorities; 4-availability of resources; and 5-human resources. The decision to move to a 5-day per week in-person model was done in consultation with our colleagues in the Milford
Health Department and the Board of Education’s Medical Advisor.
Additionally, we have confidence that, with the anticipated availability of vaccines, teachers and school staff (for those who choose) will receive their first of two shots by March 12, 2021.

With a priority on bringing students back to school five days a week, we will be postponing spring parent conferences. We will share dates when they are determined.
The daily schedule on Wednesdays will look just like the schedules you are familiar with on the other days of the week.

As always, we will continue to monitor the data and other metrics connected to our capacity as we go forward, with the hope that we will soon be able to return to a full-day, in-person model. In order to do this, I urge you to continue to be vigilant in the 3 W’s: ‘Wear a mask, Wash your hands, and Watch your distance.’ Together -- we will get there.
Thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe, everyone"
