National Western Footwear Retailer To Open Milford Store

MILFORD, CT — Western footwear retailer Boot Barn is planning to move into a Milford location in the spring, according to company officials.

The company has signed a lease for 1360 Boston Post Road, a former Rite Aid location in an 11,000-square-foot building.

"We will invite customers to experience our grand opening shortly after opening the store," a company official said.

Rite Aid shuttered its Milford location last year while closing 77 other stores. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2023.

Boot Barn is described as "the nation?s leading lifestyle retailer of western and work-related footwear, apparel, and accessories for men, women, and children."

The retailer now operates 441 stores in 46 states, along with its website.

Boot Barn currently has a location in Manchester, which opened last year. The store is also looking to expand to Plainville, The New Britain Herald reported.

The Milford building's interior is being redone with a new layout, finishes, and western themeing, according to The Connecticut Scoop. The exterior of the building will remain the same with the exception of new signage, graphics, and possible painting.
