MILFORD, CT ? Donald George Kosa, 81, of Milford, beloved husband of Nancy (Bokina) Kosa, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2023. In addition to his loving wife, Don is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Jaimi) Kosa, Timothy Kosa, and Denise (John) Hennessy; grandchildren, Jasper, Jade, Seamus, and Tiernan; and many extended family members and friends. Don was predeceased by his sister Dolores Covill Finn.

Born on February 8, 1942 in Milford, CT, he was the son of the late George and Julia (Tomasco) Kosa. Don was a lifelong Milford-ite, growing up in Devon and attending Milford High School - Class of 1960. After high school, Don enlisted in the Army, was stationed in Germany, and became a Sergeant. Upon his return, he worked for Sikorsky while also pursuing his Electrical Engineering Degree at Bridgeport Engineering Institute. During his career, he worked for Barnes Engineering in Stamford and Philips Medical Systems in Shelton.

It was at Sikorsky that Don met the love of his life, Nancy, and they shared over 56 years of marriage. Their children were Don?s pride and joy. He was active in the community, coaching youth basketball and baseball, volunteering for various civic organizations, and completing the Milford Police Department Citizens Academy. Don could always be found helping neighbors, working in the garage, and doing handyman jobs for friends and family. He enjoyed staying in touch with his former classmates as a member of the Milford High School Class Reunion Committee and the All-Class Reunion Committee for many years.

After his retirement in 2001, Don worked part time for Yale Athletics, where he was an Event Staffer for football, hockey, and basketball games. He was blessed with a lengthy retirement, spending lots of time with Nancy, visiting friends, and having fun with his grandchildren at their various activities.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4-7pm at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:30am at Saint Gabriel Church (Saint Raphael Parish), 26 Broadway, Milford, CT (Meet directly at church). Interment with Military Honors will follow at King?s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry Street, Milford, CT.
