MILFORD, CT ? Jessica Frances Braun Ciola, 46, of Bethany passed away into eternal rest on November 25, 2023. Born on December 24, 1976, in Milford, she was the daughter of Edward Braun and Karen Acheycheck.

Jessica spent her early childhood years on Bayview Beach in Milford, Connecticut. As she grew older she attended Laurelton Hall for high school where she was known as a force of nature. Jessica excelled in track and field, especially in the high jump and short-distance sprints. After high school, she continued her track and field career at Sacred Heart University while studying English Literature. Shortly after Jessica started Sacred Heart she fell deeply in love with John Ciola. Jess built her dream home in Bethany and had three beautiful children Shauna, Jenna, and Kyle. Jessica was an incredibly intelligent woman and she craved stimulation and constant growth so she founded MPOWER Studio, a workout center designed for women to own their power and strength. After many successful years at MPOWER Studio, Jess moved forward with her fitness career at the JCC Fitness Center.

It did not take long for Jess to become fully immersed in the JCC community, radiating her positive vibrant energy to every member whom she came across. Jess worked as a personal trainer and director for the JCC; she changed hundreds of lives with her charismatic energy. She had a unique process that did not just focus on weight loss, but full mind, body, and soul wellness. Jess wanted to reach more people outside her community so she recently started a fitness education app called REGAIN. This is where she focused her commitment to continued learning and strength by teaching people how to regain strength through whole-body wellness. Over 25 years in the BOW she built a community of love and family. Jess was curating a new business, running the JCC fitness center, and was a Mom to three but she always found time to visit with her cousins, have a beer with friends in Maine, and cook lasagna for her family.

Jess found peace in being with her people. She would travel to Colorado to ski with Shauna and fill her fridge with homemade food, snuggle with Jenna and talk about the world, and have frequent backyard chats with her son Kyle about his recent welding projects. You would often find Jess dancing in the kitchen to foo fighters or reading a book in her grandmother's chair with a cup of tea. She loyally cared for her three Great Danes and her two cats. Jess always had love and healing in her heart. She loved truly and, as hard as she could in every moment. She was a one-of-a-kind woman, she cherished her people, she would hold her people tight, and she loved with everything she had.
