Richard joined the Milford Police Department and for 17 years served in different capacities. He was an outstanding public servant committed to his chosen profession. He was a ?by the numbers? man.

Beyond his professional achievements Richard was a man of many passions. He was an avid Lionel train collector and had an extensive train collection and layout. His joy was not only for himself but also for his grandchildren as well as the neighborhood children who were always welcomed to go downstairs and see his trains. He would place a ?Conductor? hat on them and let those push buttons and run the trains.
