Obituary: Richard W. Ross, age 71

MILFORD, CT - Richard W. Ross, age 71 of Milford, beloved husband of over 50 years to Nancy Short Ross, passed away February 4, 2020 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford.

Richard was born in New Haven, March 8, 1948, son of the late Richard H. and Frances Pelling Ross. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant. After serving his country, he worked as a courier for many years for United Parcel Service, Purolator, and Federal Express until his retirement.

Besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by his children Richard J. Ross and his wife Froso of Milford, Jill Wainman (and Keith Murphy), his grandchildren John and Dean Ross, and Robert, Hannah and Lexi Wainman, his sisters Lynn Bauer of Killingworth and his twin sister June Krusewski of Meriden, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm at Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 12pm DIRECTLY at First United Church of Christ, 34 W. Main St., Milford with Full Military Honors immediately following the Service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
