Obituary: Wayne J. Varjas, 65, Of Milford

MILFORD, CT — (From Lesko & Polke Funeral Home): Wayne J. Varjas, 65, of Milford, formerly of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Born in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Chelstowski Varjas, Wayne had lived in Fairfield for most of his life before moving to Milford recently. He was the owner and operator of the EMCO landscaping company.

Wayne enjoyed the outdoors while gardening, hiking, skiing, canoeing and paintballing. He liked cooking and trying new things and would always have some home project going on. More than anything he loved his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his companion, Michele Almeraris, of Milford; siblings, David, and wife, Becky, Caren, and Neal, and his son, Luc; his children, Ryan, Christopher, and Emily Varjas and Vincent, Derek, Gina, and Michael Almeraris, and his wife, Michelle. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Jackson, Chase and Layla Jane Almeraris; a nephew, Brett Varjas, and his wife, Elizabeth, and their children, Piper and Payton; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by a nephew, Corey Varjas.
