Plea Offer Anticipated For Man Accused Of Killing Milford Woman
The case of a man accused of killing a Milford woman in 2022 could be resolved next month, according to reports.
MILFORD, CT ? A man accused of killing the mother of his 3-year-old son with an ax in 2022 is expected to receive a plea deal next month, Hearst Connecticut Media reported.
Ewen DeWitt, 44, appeared in court Tuesday. Attorneys for the two sides then met behind closed doors.
The prosecutor and judge both indicated that a plea offer is forthcoming at a court appearance Oct. 4, according to News 12 Connecticut.

DeWitt is accused of killing Julie Minogue, 40, who had a full no-contact restraining order against him after receiving threatening text messages.
Officers went to a Salem Walk residence Dec. 6, 2022 after getting a 911 call reporting that Minogue was being assaulted by a man, police said.

?The first arriving officers cleared the residence and discovered that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival,? police said in a statement. ?The victim was found deceased inside the home.?
Dewitt was located in West Haven and taken into custody.
DeWitt was previously charged with murder, criminal violation of a protective order and restraining order, risk of injury to a minor, and reckless endangerment.
