Popular Hot Chicken Restaurant Opens In Milford

MILFORD, CT ? The wait for the popular chain Dave's Hot Chicken is over: The Milford restaurant will open Friday. The restaurant is Dave's first location in Connecticut.

The restaurant released the news on its Facebook page this week.

"#milford #ct the wait is ALMOST over! Your FIRST EVER @daveshotchicken opens THIS FRIDAY 1/24!1611 Boston Post Rd., Milford, CT 06460 we can?t wait to see our #connecticut fam, so tag the crew, spread the word, and get there EARLY!!"

The location will be at 1611 Boston Post Road.

Dave's Hot Chicken is a Los Angeles-based chain that specializes in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from "No Spice" to "Reaper." Each restaurant also serves sides of house-made "kale slaw," mac-and-cheese and fries or cheese fries.

Dave's Hot Chicken announced in 2022 that it would be expanding in Connecticut when a multi-franchise agreement was signed with serial fast food restaurateur Chris Johnson.

Founded by classically-trained chef Dave Kopushyan and three friends in early 2017, Dave?s Hot Chicken initially opened as a parking lot pop-up. It has since expanded to over 40 locations in the United States and Canada.

Dave's isn't the only popular fried chicken restaurant that's expanding on Route 1 in Milford. Raising Cane's has had plans approved to build a 3,400-square-foot restaurant at 1455 Boston Post Road.
