MILFORD, CT ? A Milford bar and restaurant that opened in 2020 is closing as the owner said she is stepping down.
"Opening this place was something I had to do to prove to myself that my ideas were good," the establishment shared on Facebook on Monday. "And I was more than just a bartender that didn't deserve to be taken seriously. I proved my point. I'm at a place in life. where I want to stop and smell the roses. I dedicated my life to this business for the last 5 years but now it's time to take it back."
An employee confirmed that the bar and restaurant is closing. The last day of business will be Friday.

Hair of the Dog serves Scarpiello wings, which topped Wingaddicts list of the best in the state, according to the restaurant's website.
They also offered award-winning bloody Marys and mimosas at brunch every Saturday and Sunday.
Sandra DeRosa-Briggs, of Milford, started the business in November 2020. She had been working in the restaurant and bar business for 35 years. She had never wanted to own her own place until she was let go from her job, "a moment that could have been devastating."
"But instead of giving up, Sandra decided to take control of her future," the website reads.
DeRosa-Briggs sought to create "a lively, welcoming environment where customers feel at home." This comes in the form of the music choices, creative menu item names, and fun decor.
