Road Rage Incident In Milford Involved Firearm: State Police

The accused was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, State Police said.

MILFORD, CT — Dariel Pope, 23, of Georgia, is accused of being involved in a road rage incident in Milford on Interstate 95 by Exit 34 on Friday night, according to State Police.

State Police said they received a report about a road rage incident involving a gun around 11 p.m. and they stopped the car in Fairfield, State Police said.

The vehicle was described as a Hyundai sedan color blue bearing a Georgia license plate, and it was being followed by the complainant in a Chevy Colorado, State Police said.

Pope's car was located on I-95 southbound, passing Exit 24, State Police said. A motor vehicle stop was performed, and the driver pulled over in the I-95 southbound Fairfield rest stop area, authorities said.

State police said they found a 15-round Ruger .22 caliber magazine located in Pope's right pants pocket fully loaded.

State Police also said they found a Ruger 22 Charger pistol in the car, and it had one round in the chamber with a 25 round dual magazine containing 23 and 16 rounds. The firearm and magazines were seized.

Pope is charged with second-degree threatening, possession of large capacity magazines, weapons in a vehicle, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree reckless engagement, and second-degree breach of peace. He was held on $50,000 bail.
