Several Accidents On CT Roads Causing Delays, Lane Closures Today

CONNECTICUT — The morning commute in. Connecticut wasn't a good one as several serious accidents were reported. As folks head home from work tonight the roads are in good shape except for an accident on Interstate 84 in Newtown which is causing several delays.

Numerous delays are also reported but that is an everyday occurrence at this hour. (See the full real-time list below).

And today will be an ugly weather day as heavy rain moves in this afternoon and evening.

"Expect showers and possibly even an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon and evening, with periods of moderate to locally heavy rain tonight as the front moves over the region," the National Weather Service said.

"Precipitation quickly tapers off Thursday morning, with strong westerly winds and mainly dry conditions expected for Thursday and Friday as high pressure builds into the area. Temperatures will continue to be above normal," the weather service adds.
