News and notes from the Milford Public Schools:

Pumpkin Delight Renovation Project Gets ‘Green Light’

We are truly delighted to report that a significant renovation project at Pumpkin Delight received approval to move forward recently, giving one of our oldest schools (built in 1949) the benefit of much needed additional space, improved infrastructure, and updated design. Some of the more striking components of the project will include the construction of a full size elementary cafeteria/gym with storage space.

The existing multipurpose room will be converted into a dedicated media center, similar to those that have been incorporated into our other elementary buildings. The project will also include general alterations, improvements and code compliance. A secured vestibule will be constructed at the front entrance. If you’re curious about the project, take a look at the actual Board of Education presentation (start viewing at 1:20:00 for the actual presentation; it includes sample drawings) from last week. So exciting!

We are grateful to the City, the Board of Aldermen, the Board of Education and our Milford Public School administrators who worked so hard to bring this plan forward. Thank you!

We all know the past year has not been easy – and our kids may need a little extra help when it comes to social and emotional issues.
