Smoke Condition Inside Milford School Leads To Brief Evacuation
Fire crews used metering devices to determine all areas of the school were safe to be occupied prior to allowing children back inside.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Fire Department responded to East Shore Middle School Tuesday morning at 10:42 a.m. due to a smoke condition inside the media room.
Fire Department units arrived within four minutes and worked with school administration to determine the cause of the smoke, officials said. The situation occurred due to a problem with a HVAC unit, officials said.
Fire crews used metering devices to determine all areas of the school were safe to be occupied prior to allowing the children back into the school, officials said. Firefighters were on scene for about 35 minutes.
