Special Weather Statement Issued For Southern Connecticut

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT ? The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

At 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, the weather service said, "Light precipitation is currently moving across the region. Most of the area is observing temperatures above freezing, however there may be a few isolated locations where ground temperatures remain right at freezing. As a result, some patchy icy spots may develop."

Here are the extended forecast details via the National Weather Service:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph.

Tonight: Areas of frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 29. North wind 6 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 52. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 59. West wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 63.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 50.
