Staneski Joins Republicans, Calls for Vote on State Budget Plan
Staneski joins House Republican Leader Themis Klarides in calling for an up-or-down vote for Thursday's special session in the House.

From CT House Republicans: State Rep. Pam Staneski (R-119) joined House Republican Leader Themis Klarides today in calling for an up-or-down vote for Thursday’s special session in the House on the balanced, no-tax increase Republican budget – the third one her caucus has produced – in the absence of a single budget proposal by the majority party.
“Without a state budget plan in place for the new fiscal year, Connecticut is left with the prospect of Governor Malloy running the state almost unilaterally with no checks or balances. The governor will have wide discretion to cut funding for vital state services like education, hospitals, and municipal aid.” said Rep. Staneski, a member of the legislature’s Appropriations Committee. “I hope my friends on the other side of the aisle will consider this and give the House Republicans’ balanced budget considerable thought as good step forward for this state. Let’s debate our proposal—my friends can always suggest amendments for the discussion. The people of Milford and Orange deserve a reliable and dependable state government.”
According to the lawmakers, Governor Malloy has outlined deep cuts to municipal aid, social services, hospitals, and public colleges and universities that would occur if he had to run the upcoming fiscal year by executive order.
