State Police Release Fourth of July Stats

The following is a press release:

The Connecticut State Police holiday stats for the July 4th Holiday Operation are listed below. The holiday count began on July 3rd starting at 12:01 a.m. and continue until midnight on July 7th.

Summary from 7/3/13 starting at midnight to 7/4/13 9 p.m.

Total Accidents: 190

Accidents With Injury: 27

Fatals: 0

DUI Arrests: 35

Speeding Tickets: 1,276

Seatbelt Tickets: 257

Other Hazardous Moving Violation Tickets — i.e. cell phone use, unsafe lane change etc: 2,916

State Troopers will continue to enforce all motor vehicle laws as the summer continues. If you see a suspected drunk driver, that is an emergency, call 911. 

Note: 2012 stats: 323 accidents; 45 DUI Arrests; 1,059 speeding tickets.
