MILFORD, CT ? The state has approved a city proposal for nine red light and speeding cameras, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

The state approved red light cameras for three locations on Boston Post Road and six speeding camera locations.

The approval allows for installation of license plate-reading technology that can detect speeding or failure to stop at a red light. That information is then sent to police for review before any fine is levied.
