Stray Tire Strikes Car On I-95 In Milford, Injuring Driver
A driver was trapped in their car after a stray car tire from a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction hit them.

MILFORD, CT ? A car was struck by a stray tire on I-95 in Milford, resulting in "traumatic injuries" and trapping a driver in her vehicle, according to the fire department.
Reports came in at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday regarding a motor vehicle accident in the area of exit 39A on the northbound side of the highway.
A sedan had been struck by a stray tire that "flew off another vehicle traveling southbound at highway speed," according to fire officials.

The driver suffered what fire officials called "traumatic injuries" and had to be extricated from the car. She was stable and medics took her to an area hospital for evaluation.
State police are investigating the crash.

It was a busy Tuesday morning for Milford firefighters, who also responded to a dump truck fire that was "quickly extinguished."
