CT Weather: Thunderstorms, Showers Expected On Monday, Tuesday
The National Weather Service shared new details and a timeline concerning when to expect storms on Monday and Tuesday.
CONNECTICUT — Sunday has been a beautiful weather day, but some significant changes are on the imminent horizon. In the overnight hours, rain develops and there is a chance of thunderstorms on Monday, Monday night and Tuesday.
It won't rain all day on Monday or Tuesday, but there is a chance for storms to pop up and there could be quick downpours.
"Thunderstorms possible tonight will continue into the day tomorrow, with storms increasing in coverage into the afternoon and evening on Monday. Tuesday could see lingering showers through most of the morning," the National Weather Service said.

The weather service said some storms are possibly by daybreak Monday in northern Connecticut and again Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon. In southern Connecticut, the weather service said there is a chance for some storms in the early morning hours Monday and once again on Monday night. There is also a chance for more storms Tuesday afternoon.

Here are the forecast details for southern Connecticut:
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10pm and 2am, then a chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
