CT Weather: Severe Weather Could Spark Flash Flooding On Thursday

A leading meteorologist said he is becoming "more and more concerned" that Connecticut may see severe weather Thursday. Here's when.

CONNECTICUT — WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons said in a social media post that he is "getting more and more concerned" that Connecticut could see severe weather sometime after 4 p.m. and up until 10 p.m. Thursday.

He said the severe weather could spark flash flooding in areas of Connecticut. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut, saying, "There is potential for localized to scattered areas of flash flooding this afternoon into evening ahead of a slow moving coldfront."

Northern areas of the state are also expected to receive scattered storms and brief periods of heavy rain in spots.
