Updated Plan Released For In-Person Learning In Milford Schools
Superintendent of Schools Anna Cutaia released an important update for Milford parents and staff.

MILFORD, CT — Superintendent of Schools Anna Cutaia said the school system will continue to practice an in-person schedule five days a week after spring break in mid-April but with abbreviated days.
She had indicated earlier that she was hopeful of extending the instructional time for students, but she wrote in a letter on Monday that she plans to keep the abbreviated days for now, but she cautioned that could change quickly. She vowed to continue to provide frequent updates.

At this time, our plan for returning to school after spring break (April 12, 2021), is to continue with the current in-person schedule (five days/week, in-person with abbreviated days).
In line with the Governor’s current executive orders, students still have the option of distance learning rather than in-person learning. We will continue to monitor the five factors I have referenced in previous communications:

1-health metrics; 2-social/emotional learning needs; 3-academic priorities; 4-available resources; and 5-human resources.
As we monitor these factors, at any time, we have the potential of increasing or decreasing in-person learning. Therefore, the potential of moving to distance learning in response to these factors is possible, especially considering the health metrics and availability of human resources at the time of return.
The converse is also true. If the five factors point us to an increase of in-person learning then we will communicate our move in that direction with you. As with inclement weather days, families should be prepared with alternate plans in the event that factors cause us to revisit in-person learning on the other side of spring break. I will continue to communicate with you as we revisit health metrics and human resources as we approach the month of April and the end of our scheduled spring break.
Thank you for understanding the continued challenge of making decisions in the face of this pandemic crisis. Keeping our students and staff healthy and safe is my number one priority.
I want to provide you with a reminder to stay safe by practicing the recommendations issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
