Woman Thanks Milford Police After She's Stopped For Speeding
A woman wrote a letter to the Milford Police Department thanking the officer who stopped her for speeding.
MILFORD, CT — During this month's Board of Police Commissioners meeting it was revealed that a Derby woman wrote to Police Chief Keith Mello thanking the police officer that stopped her for speeding.
In the you don't see that everyday category, Mello shared that he received a letter from a Derby resident who referred to an incident in November when she was stopped by Officer Al Mauro for speeding. She noted that she admittedly was speeding but acknowledged Mauro for his compassionate, patient and professional demeanor, according to the letter.

Cancer Foundation – extended words of appreciation to the Milford Police Dept. for their participation in the “No-Shave November” event in which officers were allowed to grow mustaches and participate. She noted the $1,500 raised by the Milford Police Officers was a great effort and went a long way in providing financial and emotional assistance to many.
- Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast – referred to an incident handled by Officer Andrade and noted his calm and professional attitude adding he represents the Department well.
