4 Shot, 1 Fatally, In 3 New Haven Weekend Shootings: Police

Four New Haven men were shot in 3 separate incidents Friday night into Saturday morning, police said. One man, 37, was pronounced dead.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating three shootings, one fatal, since Friday.

Just before 11 p.m. Friday, a Shotspotter alert and multiple 911 calls about two people being shot on Button Street, between Lamberton Street and Rosette Street, police found two 28-year-old New Haven men suffering from gunshot wounds. Taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, both were listed in stable condition.

Two hours later, at around 1 a.m. Saturday, 911 calls about a man being shot, brought police to South Genesee Street, near the intersection of Harper Avenue. There, they found an 18-year-old New Haven man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, he is listed in stable condition.

Three hours later, around 4:20 a.m. several 911 calls brought cops to the 100 block of Springside Avenue where they found a 37-year-old New Haven man who had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
