Mayor Update On Flooding, Dangerous Conditions On New Haven Roads
Myriad streets across New Haven are now closed due to extreme flooding from the storm, mayor said Friday morning. Here's the list.
NEW HAVEN, CT —Mayor Justin Elicker is cautioning residents to avoid many streets, roads and avenues in New Haven.
Elicker said that the "main challenge" now is the flooding after an inundation of rain, two inches per hour, he said.
High winds are expected once the rain tapers off, he said, but the immediate concern is about flooded streets and roads, of which there are many, with many closures. He urged residents to not walk or drive through these flooded roadways.

Here’s video from Temple and North Frontage. People here tell me a car was submerged at one point. The water is receded now and a tow truck just came in. This is one of the streets closed in @cityofnewhaven #NHV. @NBCConnecticut pic.twitter.com/NgeYEUObPN
