CitySeed Edgewood Park Farmers Market Opens June 6

NEW HAVEN, CT — CitySeed’s Edgewood Park farmers market returns Sunday, June 6.

The market, located at Edgewood Park on the corner of Whalley and West Rock avenues and will run on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year’s market will resemble pre-COVID markets, with the return of live music and other activities.

With its continued partnership with the CT Fresh Match program through End Hunger CT!, CitySeed offers unlimited doubling of SNAP/EBT for fruits and vegetables.

Customers can look forward to produce from Riverbank Farm and Traveling Farmer, Rose’s Berry Farm in July, pastries and breads from SoNo Baking Co, fresh bagels from Olmo, international dishes from Sanctuary Kitchen, and artisanal teas and coffee from New Haven Tea and Coffee and other exciting guest vendors throughout the season.

Edgewood Park opening day will feature live music by David Chevan and Friends, who will play a mix of Klezmer, jazz, and world traditions. Sharper Harper will also be at the market offering knife and tool sharpening services.

“We are excited to kick off another great season at Edgewood Park, with lots of familiar returning faces, as well as new ones,” said market director Erin Carey.

Market enthusiasts can also visit CitySeed’s Wooster Square market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Conte/West Middle School, 511 Chapel St. The first hour of the market is reservation only. Customers can reserve a timeslot for the market on CitySeed’s website.

The 2021 Farmers Market season sponsors are the MFUNd Foundation, Yale New Haven Health, Guilford Savings Bank, the Chelsea Groton Foundation.

CitySeed’s Farmers Markets are also certified and supported by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture.
