This Is CT's 'Best Pizza Joint' And You May Be Shocked: Money

NEW HAVEN, CT — I'm thinking this is going to be more than a tad bit controversial. Here is the premise. Money recently partnered with Yelp to find and list the "Best Pizza Joint in Every State." It's probably no surprise that the best spot for pizza in Connecticut is located in New Haven.

But what will be shocking to many is that the top pizza place wasn't Pepe's, Modern, or Sally's. Money and Yelp say that the "Big Green Truck Pizza" in New Haven is Connecticut's top "pizza joint."

What is the Big Green Truck Pizza? Well it's a pizza truck and is located at 535 East Street in New Haven. It's open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It's closed Sundays and Mondays. The company runs five trucks throughout Connecticut and has even expanded into Westchester.

According to their website, "We are a catering service based out of New Haven, Connecticut. Our focus is to deliver a one of a kind pizza party experience for all of our clients. Our specially outfitted antique trucks serve as mobile pizzerias, we pull up to the party location, turn the wooden sides into tables, heat up our wood fired pizza oven and start to make fresh, hot pizza’s right on the spot! We bring a multitude of pizza toppings to create any traditional or gourmet pizza you desire! Big Green Truck brings the party to you and your guests. Not only do we serve pizza, but we also have a mixed green salad, gelato, cappuccino and espresso."

One Yelp reviewer wrote, "Throwing a fun party has never been easier! To die for pizza served up in a unique way! Easy to book with helpful friendly staff. Our second time using and I would still highly recommend! Book early would be my only piece of advice because spots fill up far in advance!
