Ferraro’s Market Alters Schedule, Offers Online Orders: UPDATE
Ferraro's Market which has been in business for nearly 60 years is making changes to its schedule but is definitely remaining open.
(Editor's note: This story has been updated and corrected to make it clear that the market is not closing and the owners said in a social media posting that the coronavirus had no impact on the store's new schedule.)
NEW HAVEN, CT — The historic Ferraro's Market of Grand Avenue in New Haven is altering its schedule temporarily and is moving to allow online orders, owners announced on social media on Sunday.
The owners said the market will be closed Monday through Friday but will be open all Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The new change begins Monday, April 13. Customers can order online through www.themeatking.com and pickup at your desired pickup location.
"Furthermore we plan to be starting home delivery, so stay ... tuned for that!," the owners said on Facebook.

They went on to say they are making the changes in an effort to give employees a much-needed break and to allow for a deep clean of the store. The owners said the change in operations and schedule has nothing to do with the coronavirus.
The family owned market was founded in 1952. The market sells a wide-selection of meats, seafood, deli, produce, dairy, frozen foods, prepared foods and more.
