The New Haven Police Department has been named one of 30 finalists in the Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. – K9 Law Enforcement Sports Utility Vehicle Giveaway. Officer Martin Feliciano and his partner “Ax” will compete for public votes to win a new Chevy Tahoe SUV with a Police Package and additional K9 unit customizations – a prize worth up to $50,000.

Feliciano’s and Ax’s current ride is a “very old” Crown Vic “that’s seen much better days”, said K9 Team coordinator Lieutenant Renée Dominguez. “We need this much more than any other department in the running”, she said.
