Here's CT's Iconic Best Pizza: Barstool Review
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy graded Pepe's, Sally's, Modern and Bar.
NEW HAVEN, CT — The reviews are in and Sally's Apizza is the best in New Haven, according to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
Portnoy gave Sally's a 9.2, Modern Apizza 8.8, Pepe's an 8.5 and Bar a 7.4. He called Sally's one of the best pizzas he's ever had and that Modern and Pepe's were very close in quality. Bar he noted was more of a nightlife pizza, but was still good.
"Are we going to call [New Haven] the pizza capital of the world? I'm going to think about it, I think it's very close," he said.

All the Barstool pizza ratings are graded on the first impression of a cheese pizza. Bar is well-known for its mashed potato pizza and many would say that Pepe's white clam can't be beat.
