Hundreds Vaccinated at FEMA Mobile Clinic On New Haven Green

Coordinated by Griffin Health, FEMA, and state and local health departments, hundreds got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine Thursday.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Under a clear, bright blue-sky day, the COVID-19 FEMA Mobile Vaccination Unit staffed by members of the National Guard and health care providers from Griffin Health administered hundreds of vaccines on the New Haven Green Thursday.

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker and city Health Director Maritza Bond were joined by New Haven Emergency Operations Director Rick Fontana, Acting Deputy Regional Administrator for FEMA Dan McElhinney, President and CEO of Griffin Hospital Patrick Charmel, and Richard Branigan, the CAO of American Red Cross of Connecticut and Rhode Island were all on hand to kick off the mobile vaccine clinic.

The site will also operate Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for New Haven residents only. To schedule an appointment for the clinics on the Green, New Haven, residents are encouraged to call Griffin Hospital at 855-691-6369 or visit www.griffinhealth.org/newhaven.
