Iconic Wooster Street Restaurant Closing After Half-Century Run
One of the best known restaurants on Wooster Street is closing down this Sunday after 53 years as one of the best known Italian restaurants.
NEW HAVEN, CT - New Haven is known for its fine restaurants and there is no street that is home to better restaurants than famed Wooster Street.
It was announced on social media on Thursday that one of the best-known restaurants on Wooster - Tony & Lucilles Little Italy- is shutting its doors this coming Sunday night after 53 years of serving some of the best Italian food not only in New Haven but the entire state.
On Facebook, the owners of the well-known eatery that dates over four generations and is famous for their pasta and spaghetti dishes along with delicious seafood, explained their reasoning:

"The time has finally come.....
"After a successful and long 53 years our restaurant will be closing the doors one last time. This is bittersweet for our whole family, because this is all we’ve known our entire lives.

"We’ve spent countless holidays and weekends there. Four generations were lucky enough to grow up behind those walls!
"It’s been one hell of a ride but my grandparents, mom, aunts and uncle deserve this more than anything. They’ve worked their entire lives and have built an iconic empire.
