Update: All Clear On Livingston Street Incident

Detectives went to speak to a man about an investigation, police said, when the man barricaded himself inside but ultimately surrendered.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police issued an all clear for Livingston Street after an earlier investigation.

Police said just before noon that people should avoid the area of Livingston Street between Lawrence and Cottage streets as authorities had an active investigation under way.

New Haven Police Department Sgt. Shayna Kendall said earlier that detectives had gone to the address "looking to follow-up with an individual regarding an investigation." The person then "barricaded himself" inside.

The New Haven Independent reported that neighbors said they'd seen officials in Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives jackets at the scene.
