NEW HAVEN, CT — The Chief State Medical Examiner has ruled that one of two men found dead in a storage room next to Jack's Bar & Steakhouse last month died due to an accidental overdose, The New Haven Register reported. The deceased man was identified as Alejandro Simone-Piendibene, of Hamden.

He was a former employee who left the restaurant about a year ago. The other man who died has not yet been identified. A third man who was found alive has since been released from the hospital and is recovering, according to The New Haven Register.

The restaurant, which closed last month due to COVID violations, has since reopened after the New Haven Health Department approved its corrective plan.
